     Well, if one considers the ratio of grad schools assholes who made it 
     through to grad school assholes who made it through *and* found their 
     way to to Pynchon-l, then, well,...oh, forget it.
     
     Just kidding there, but, ya knoooow, not fer nothin' (and this is not 
     directed to any one person), but I despair (already!) the flame war on 
     this issue that I feel kindling beneath my cyber-tootsies.
     
     Flak jackets, everyone, it's the return of the .edu-slime/unwashed 
     masses barrage.
