Look what I found last week. A suitable occasion to go (well, maybe not 
that easy for you, Grant) and ask JB what he means by GR's "coldness";
isn't it after all so that when it comes to both "cold" and "warm" colors, 
Barth's spectrum has always been hugely narrower than Pynchon's?

boundaries in gender studies, Utopia, New order, Disenchantments, 
Myths of the fall, The posthuman, Hypertexts, Electronic texts, 
Post-feminism, The sense of an ending, Scientism, Regeneration, Theories 
of the alien, Esotericism, Decadentism, Secularism, Heterotopias, The Zone.
(To be included in the program, you are invited to submit an abstract of 
your paper (not to exceed 250 words).
