     Hey, Rich?  Hey, everybody?  Didja happen to see that great article in 
     the _Voice_ last week by that kickass righteous journalist feller 
     Jeffrey St. Clair?  The piece, called "Beetle Mania," (and co-authored 
     by another kickass journalist, James Ridgeway) is all about the risk 
     posed to American trees, already beset by fragility and decline, by 
     some nasty little buggies in the Asian longhorn beetle family.  (The 
     beetles have been hitching rides to the US in logs imported from 
     overseas, in typical Byzantine business fashion, by American timber 
     companies.)  This piece is MUCH more interesting than that speculative 
     Ron Rosenbaum thing that made it all the way to Tim Ware's Web Page 
     (imagine!) and DEFINITELY Way More Interesting (way!) than that drivel 
     in NY Mag that sent me into an orgasmic fit (my god!).  Man, that St. 
     Clair guy is really good.  Sure wish I could let him know.  (But, it's 
     too bad the _Voice_ is such trash most of the time these days.)
