It's not because they're any more poisonous or anything--and as pollenators
they do what they oughta, but the dangerous thing is that the swarm is
aggressive, persistence and won't take shit from nobody!
If you can find that NPR report, check it out. Even on radio, the point
where the guest beekeeper and correspondent walk into an African (or
"Africanized") field of bees is very unsettling!
