What with all of the speculation about Pynchon's Next Big One (including,
if I remember correctly, a suggestion not to read it at all...), does
anyone else fear we won't be able to "see" to book itself when it arrives?
The simulacral M&D, like the idea of the Most Photographed Barn in _White
Noise_, will have to stand in for the authentic text/barn which has been
irretrievably mediated away. Diana
