Do you guys think that Pynchon could have been influenced by Shakespeare's
Hamlet when he was writing COL49?
I think that there is a huge similarity between the plays which are shown to
the characters when they are on their quests. Hamlet sees The Murder of
Gonzago and that also relates to Oedpia seeing The Courier's Tragedy. I also
think that The Courier's Tragedy is very much like Hamlet.
Do you see a connection?
Thanks for your input. This is my first question for the group and I'm new
to Pynchon's work, so I'd appreciate any answers I can get.
