Gaddis? Steely

Mr. S,  seeing as you have read pretty widely, what's your opinion of the 
only writer IMHO to match TRP, William Gaddis?  The Recognitions (again 
IMHO) is one of the best books ever written. Who can forget Recktal Brown 
and Agnes Dei?  His other works I hope to get to at some point.  JR looks 
quite formidable. Gaddis was pretty low-key for most of his life, but he 
did give a reading of A Frolic with Wm Gass over a year ago here in NYC 
and his picture is on the back too.  This after everyone telling me how 
invisible he was.
