There is no single, Christian, Day of Atonement. The Jewish Day of 
Atonement is just before Jewish New Year. Xmas is just before gentile 
NY. The Jewish Day of Atonement requires that forgiveness be granted 
not only by god, but also.by the people to whom one has expressed 
honest contrition. 

So. The p-list is a sort of family. We don't always get along, but 
can agree that most of us have our hearts, if nothing else, in the 
right place. Forgive me any trespasses including lapses in good 
taste.
