Hey folks,
I'm new to the list, and figured I'd lurk for a while before introducing
myself, but in today's mailings was a question I can answer. Dennis asked:

How do you pronounce "Tchitcherine"?  

My boss, a Moscovite, tells me that it's pronounced "tchee-CHAIR-in". It
doesn't mean anything in particular, but it is a Russian name. The first
communist foreign affairs minister was named Tchitcherine. That was all I
could get out of him before I had to get to work.
