Like Arturo Gonzalez, I am a new contributor to pynchon-l & must
apologize for recapitulating old arguments about Wanda Tinasky....
As an occasional writer of fiction and an admirer of Pynchon I often
find myself adopting his cadences, strategies, style, whatever.. in my
own writing. I also am sympathetic to the political positions I
perceive that Pynchon shares (left-populist, anti-corporate,
environmental, etc). So, conceivably I could have written those letters
(if I was a reader of the AVA) as could have probably anyone on this
list. I may repoen an old argument here, but I think the hype about them
is a symptom of an unhealthy industry- precisely what Pynchon probably
dislikes literary critics for..
In regards to their Pynchonesque nature, could the author possibly
be....David Foster Wallace?????
By the way I enjoyed the Broom of the System, but didn't think it was
very Pynchonesque at all...reminded me more of Donald Barthelme...
Sorry for any redundancies.
