The Book

I was reading an article on cyberpunk in a magazine (Heavy Metal I
believe) that said GR was the book that was the genesis of cyberpunk,
so of course I had to read it. I started reading it before a structures
test, and was hooked. I had a good background in aerospace and the
history of World War II, so it wasn't too hard of a read. It's still my
favorite, and TRP is the only author I seek out essays and criticism's
about ( I got a sense of smug satisfaction when the one reader's guide
dropped the Smith, Klein and French allusion, "possibly famous
Prohibition agents?").
Oh yes, there's a review of Infinite Jest in the latest Atlantic, with
two comparison's to TRP and Gaddis.

take a break. It's like it's open 24 hours a day...."
