Oh, if only TRP had written COL49 first!  Then I could make a
further Monty Python allusion by claiming that his novels
were in the shape of a brontosaurus:  "little at one end [COL49],
big in the middle [V, GR], and little at the other end [Vine]."
Alas!!!
