Uh, not that this has ANYTHING to do with Pynchon, but . . .

What is the deal with this "Trainspotting" thing? I saw a book with
that title, I've seen the mentions of the film here on the list, and
this weekend, I was thumbing through "Rolling Stone" magazine
(definitely no longer worth the $3 investment) and saw a huge ad
saying "Coming to America . . . Trainspotting." I couldn't tell if it
was advertising a movie, or some hagged up american version of the
movie (like what they did to Ab-Fab) but what it really looked like
was some 90's cinematic version of the Young Ones; one of the guys in
the ad is a dead ringer for Rik Mayall. A-and didn't THOSE guys
already do some toilet thing way back in the 80's anyway?

     Huh?

     Jean.

To return to a thread of a week or two ago. . .I don't recall any mention
of this film.

Just saw previews of a British film called "Trainspotting" or something
similar. The movie looked only moderately interesting, until a scene
where one character made a journey down a toilet to a large body of water
and back. I don't know anything else about it.
