V.- Tubal regression

Benny's tv watching at the Mendoza's reveals an interesting pattern. A nice
example of reverse-time.
The first time Fina tries to get Benny to talk to her seriously he's watching
a Randolph Scott western on tv (probably from the late 40's or the 50's).
The next time he's watching a Tom Mix movie( anywhere between 1910 and
1930), and finally before he's scared off for good there is a re-run of THE
GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY (1903).
This progression backwards through the twentieth century via the western is a
mirror image of the progression forward in the flashback sections of V. The
closer Fina tries to get to Benny the more the westerns regress in time. If
this seems far fetched, how else can one explain THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY
showing up on tv. I watched a lot of tv in the 50's and never saw that one.
Not even on channel 9 or 11.
