I distinctly remember being disappointed by "On the Air". Of course, I
haven't seen it since it first ran but I found it just slightly off. "Twin
Peaks" was a very funny show, but the laughter cam from the natural actions
of the characters. The humor in On the Air IMHO was too strained, the timing
was just a bit off. Anyway I'd love to see it again. I do remember it being
unique.
I think many others must have been "disappointed" with ON THE AIR as well as it
only lasted 3 episodes but i read somewhere that I think they made 4-6
episodes... I was lucky enough to tape the first two episodes that they aired
(and still have 'em somewhere)... obviously, they don't approach the genius of
TWIN PEAKS but they have their own wonky charm - esp. the first episode directed
by Lynch himself! But then, you have to remember that the show does kinda reek
of sour grapes as ABC gave him On the Air in compensation for canning Twin
Peaks...

ps. has anyone seen the short-lived documentary series Lynch and Frost did
called AMERICAN CHRONICLES?
