Uncomfortable TV

If the originator of this thread had used some of those ironic
quote marks, its lifecycle might have taken a whole different course.

Might have played itself out all too quickly and ruined a splendid
opportunity to discuss favorite TV shows.

On a related topic (I think), this week's New Yorker Magazine has a
longish article on popular culture (movies, tv, toys, books, etc.)
written from the point-of-view of a frustrated parent of young children
trying to make room in their lives for older cultural values held dear.

My childrearing days are long over, but I suspect others of you have
a lot more to worry about than the possiblity of undermining global
capitalism. (not that that is not also important)
