My feeling is P is trying to be funny. I'm sure if he wanted to he
could write lyrics like Cole Porter. His prose style would certainly
bear this out I think. Others besides you have remarked on this matter. 

Sorry you didn't like the TV discussion. Should have spoken up sooner
and maybe the whole thing could have been avoided. Not that I minded
it myself.
