Stencil and the Beats

One of the awesome things about V. in the first few chapters is  
Stencil's view of the Whole Sick Crew.  Such a distant detached view of 
the Beats and their world (penned in the early 60's no less!).  You would 
expect satire/maybe some horror as well?  of the hipsters right about 
now- in our "post-ironic" age (acc. to Donald Fagen)- not as it was 
happening.  Showed Pynchon was far ahead of his time...and only 23 fer 
Christ's or should I say for V.'s sake...



Great name for a rock band I say....
