I'm one of the lurkers that only occasionally get out from my cave.
53 years, translator of some 500 English-American books, including Lot 
49 which I translated in 1967 (one of the first translation, I believe).
I am also a writer, having had published about 40 books over the last 
thirty-odd years: novels, poems, short stories, travelogues, you name 
it.
Studied Chinese for some years and have published a translation of 
Chinese poets from the Tang and Song dynasties.
Very interested in non-linear narratives. Favourite authors at the 
moment Pynchon, Perec, Calvino, Pavic, Schulz, Babel and the Classics 
from Li Bai to Dostoyevsky.
Last year I re-read all of Pynchon. 
American Field Service exchange student in Milwaukee 1960-61, M.A. 
(History) U. of Copenhagen. Married, no children. Lives in an abandoned 
railway station on a small Danish island. Extensive travels on all 
continents, from Ushuaia to Reykjavik and from Honiara to Tananarive.
