I'm one of the lurkers that only occasionally get out from my cave.
53 years, translator of some 500 English-American books, including Lot
49 which I translated in 1967 (one of the first translation, I believe).
I am also a writer, having had published about 40 books over the last
thirty-odd years: novels, poems, short stories, travelogues, you name
it.
Studied Chinese for some years and have published a translation of
Chinese poets from the Tang and Song dynasties.
Very interested in non-linear narratives. Favourite authors at the
moment Pynchon, Perec, Calvino, Pavic, Schulz, Babel and the Classics
from Li Bai to Dostoyevsky.
Last year I re-read all of Pynchon.
American Field Service exchange student in Milwaukee 1960-61, M.A.
(History) U. of Copenhagen. Married, no children. Lives in an abandoned
railway station on a small Danish island. Extensive travels on all
continents, from Ushuaia to Reykjavik and from Honiara to Tananarive.
