The Secret Integration (HS reading list?)

  My daughter (who will start her freshman year of high school in a few
weeks) has an open-ended reading list for the summer prep for her "major
works" curriculum. She was looking for some short stories (besides
Hemmingway, etc) to read and I suggested THE SECRET INTEGRATION. She
whipped through it and was quite pleased with the story. (Hey, it concerns
people near to her age...).
  Has anyone  ever seem this short story actually on HS reading lists???
