An administrative note to all you p-listers:
This is just a reminder to everyone to be liberal in editing the
messages that they are following up to. Lately it seems the ratio of
original-to-quoted-material is heading down a slippery slope - oodles
of past material quoted, followed by one new line.
In general, on a small volume list like pynchon-l, it's only necessary
to quote a tiny bit of the previous mail to remind others of what
they've read just hours (or minutes) ago. So please trim the material
you're quoting to the minimum necessary to provide context - we want to
hear what you have to say, but we don't need to see the same big blocks
of text recycled multiple times. Give your judgment some exercise in
determining how much is enough - remember: more is less (or is it the
other way around?). You might also want to check the recently posted
netiquette guide for more things like this (if anyone wants a copy, let
me know).
Hoping to contain matters before they get out of hand and pynchon-l
becomes r.a.b. limited,
Murthy
