Wonder how Pynchon will deal with quantum mechanics, if and
when he does (and if he has not done already).

Doubt he'd ever be content with the popularizations of even the best of
the scientist-writers for source material. Probably reads their stuff as
a warm up, then goes straight for the equations. Can see him auditing
lectures on this or that advance mathematical topic. Won't get most of
it, not being trained and all. But eventually intuits some small inkling
of what the wave function (or whatever it is), etc., are about.

Then starts to improvise. (love that jazz)

Boy 0boy! Can hardly wait.

Doubt if our guy's lack of scientific and mathematical training will end
up being a major barrier. Pynchon doesn't know science like Bill Gates
doesn't know computers.
