AC lived in Aptos in the mid-80s--someone said TRP did too--and of course 
there's the AVA/Tinasky connection. FWIW, at his recent book signing I 
asked Cockburn whether he knew Tom in Aptos and he said "no"--but with an 
ambiguously sly look in his eye. Then again, what else did I expect him 
to say?
