hmmmm...

to get this more focused on TRP...

how about 24fps....did they make movies.....?

is sticking a camera in somebodies face and waiting for something happen
film..documentary...movie...?

(Contemplate Andy Warhol for 15 minutes in this space)

I subscribe to the bland notion that intention creates art....ie the "ready
made" notion of the Dadaists... a blurry 16mm B+W short of Brock Vond
smilingly undressing Prarie's mom with his eyes would never have made it on
the 11 o'clock news (other people filming the trial would have cut it), but
the intention which created it causes the exact same scene to become ART.
(IMHO) :)

If Steven King tried to expose the horrors and hardships of prison life, the
Shawshank Redemption perhaps failed. If he wanted to create a story that
made people feel good (and absolved, the good guy *does* win), it is a
success. Does commercial success preclude the possibility the *product* is
any good ?

I enjoyed the story, never saw the movie.... so perhaps my observations
should be taken with a grain of salt :)
