....that one can easily procure a toilet in any color nowadays.  I'm not 
sure that passage really is relevant anymore.  Also since when do white 
folks have a monopoly on fearing the  presence of death-- I guess 
non-whites or lower class whites don't fear it?  Sure a critique of 
middle class USA but that horse has been beaten to death...
