Well put.
It's worth adding that Spielberg has invested proceeds from the film version
of Thomas Keneally's *Schindler's List* in the SHOAH project, which is
taping and cataloguing thousands of previously unrecorded survivor accounts.
In this attempt to give voice and return a measure of dignity to many
individuals who suffered under the Nazis, he differs completely from
Goebbels as well as the arguably overrated Leni Riefenstahl (who, after all,
was no Fritz Lang).
On another point, the "haunting score" of *Schindler's List* was written by
John Williams. Those rich folks in Hollywood awarded him an Oscar for it.
