I've got to mention GOING AFTER CACCIATO, which, for me, was brilliant.
I never cared for Vietnam fiction, maybe because it's--I hate to say
it--before my time AND extremely complex subject matter. O'brien cut
right through my complacency with a rich postmodern (the only way to
represent war) "story" that basically floored me.
