I assume by this your refer to what was definitely left confusing in 
my message--the impression that O'Brien does not write about people 
in Vietnam.  that was not my intent--it would be ludicrous to so 
assert.  what i meant was that his best writing, imho, is not about 
the war...but about its aftermath.  just an opinion.

i assume that's what that meant...
