infinite footnotes

Thomas R. Pynchon, if by any chance you happen to be a recipient of
messages from this list, please, please consider a revised edition of GR
with footnotes.  I think that it would be way cool!!!

In fact, make it two sets of footnotes: the first a fictional set of
noptes elaborating and/or adding to the themes and plot of GR and the
second set a legitimate one setting out all the obscurities.  What the
hell, you haven't been doing much of anything else over the last decade or
so.

And anyway, nothing as good as GR has been written since.

So...get off your ass and do it!
