I don't know who Tagliacozzi is, either, but I think it's worth pointing out
that, in Italian
tagliare = "to cut"
cozzi often = "cosi" = a ribald slang term for "women" which can
approximately be translated as "pussy."
(I could go on about mussels, but I think I'll stop here.)
