And remember that many of the street folk of IJ are connected via the 
waste disposal units.  

Like somebody said, IJ is full of K.K's, most likely nodding to TP (which 
are the same initials as the central-informational-entertainment-tech, 
the "TP" of IJ, the "teleputer."  I've been making notes of the many 
asides that wink at Pynchon.  Maybe we'll make alist one day-===like, 
when I finish my diss and get a real job.
