Me too, first the Oakley Hall version and then Jim Harrison.
(now I've got straight which is which)

IJ was great book but now need to get back to an earlier America.
Before they started using 24-hour time, subsidized/nonnumbered years,
and metric. By the way, does anyone know if "clicks" (the way IJ measures
distance) are metric? In other words, are there kiloclicks, megaclicks,
and gigaclicks? And what the heck _is_ a click? Was that explained
anywhere? I did read all the footnotes.
