However, what you fail to realize is that Gilliam never set out to remake La
Jetee. Sure, it was inspired by Marker's film but that's where it ends. I think,
on it's own, 12 Monkeys stands up as superior and complex film. I agree with you
on Brazil though... If there is ever an attempt to do a film version of one of
Pynchon's books I hope Gilliam is behind the camera...
