Thanks for the kind words, public and private, about my psycho Lotion
review. One never knows how this sort of thing is going to be
received. My only regret is posting the piece before it was cooked,
but I was worried that it was going to lose its timeliness. (Don't
ask me why. This isn't exactly Rolling Stone, now, is it?) That, and
I kinda sorta had some work to do. I now have a final draft, fleshed
out (I even managed to work the arch into it) and cleaned up , but,
don't worry, the list won't be subjected to it a second time. It'll get
filed away somewhere -- awaiting the posthumous publication of my
collected parodies, diaries and crank letters to the Village Voice.

To Ted Samsel: Yikes! I had no idea about "Pynchies" being a
derogatory remark. As one effed-up anglo who *definitely* doesn't
want to be mistreated by no bourgeoisie, I'm going to have a stern
talking to with myself about this kind of stuff.

To davemarc: Yes, I think NYC Pynchies (oops) should meet at The Zone
to do the Esquire pub celebration thang. When is that coming out? I
     forget.

To everyone: Has this list ever run an organized reading of any of
the books? Would any of you be interested in such an undertaking?
Anyone care to be the tour guide? Though I have benefited
*enormously* from the ongoing discussions (and random comments) of the
list members, as one who still struggles with GRAVITY'S RAINBOW, I
know I'd benefit from a slightly more formal (?), linear (?)
discussion. GR may be too ambitious for a first go round, if this has
never been attempted before. Or, maybe this whole idea is too
     geeky... Thoughts? Comments?

     Chris
