Requesting a Western

Make that two votes for 'Blood Meridian' - and check out Larry McMurtry's 
'Streets of Laredo', which comes highly recommended (it's waiting for me 
to either finish or give up on Lempriere's Bloody Dictionary, which I had 
to go back and buy, didn't I?) - 'Streets of Laredo' is a sequel to 
'Lonesome Dove', which copped a Pulitzer, FWIW...

Also I believe some of Thomas McGuayne's (sp?) novels are westerns, and 
the one of his I read, "Panama", though not a western, is very good 
indeed, and suggests he *ought* to give good western...
