  Richard "Romeo" queries:
>to go back to a question I asked before : In the beginning of GR whose
>dream (or fantasy) is Pirate dreaming? humanity's? Pirate as Vishnu?
I've always thought of the opening dream sequence as Pirate channeling
GR, the book, itself, much as in Ulysses it is the novel itself rather
than any one character who dreams the Nighttown section.
Which ties in with the list of "Pynchon friendly" movies thread --
Fellini's 8 1/2 also begins with a dream sequence, a possible GR inspir-
ation.
Also, western novels : after BLOOD MERIDIAN, the best I've read is
the excellent Ron Hansen's DESPERADOES, a retelling of the Dalton gang
saga as narrated by Emmett Dalton hisself.
