All I can say is: God bless Stanely Fish (um, I think he has). When I
read of The Sokal incident, I tried thinking of ways in which to argue
him coherently (as if). Fish spoke clearly and eloquently, putting Sokal
in a very unflattering light regarding the physisicist's superior
attitude about that which he does not comprehend (doesn't further any
goals to "trangress boundaries," I must say; only widens the gulf).
What amazed me most what Fish's non-defensive posture. He spoke only
against an ill-conceived idea, not of the "mistake" of publishing Sokal's
piece in _Social Text_. And brilliantly.
