I'd forgotten about Porpentine in the quartet. I also read it after
Pynchon, although I recall getting Justine from the library, by mistake.
(I thought it was deSade's Justine.)
Only recently have I started reading Miller. As I may have said here
earlier, I can't help but feel that he was very influential on the whole
Beat scene. Surely it's time for a longer harder look at Miller and his
literary progeny.
Makes me almost wishI was a lit academic. (But not quite! :) )
