Pynchon in Denmark

Pynchon was introduced in Denmark with the Crying of Lot 49, which I 
translated back in 1967.
Vineland was translated by Claus Bech in 1993.
For many years I kept pestering the main publishing houses to do 
Gravity's Rainbow, but as one of the editors said: Too much gravity for 
us.
Books of 700+ pages don't sell that well here, though Vikram Seth has 
been translated, so who knows...
Anyway I wouldn't say Pynchon is terribly well known in Denmark - about 
as well known or as little known as, say, Perec.
But one of our leading criticists, the late Poul Borum, always said that 
Pynchon is the best living US author and the only one who really 
deserves the Nobel prize.
