  I see no one paid attention to my post re: THE PISTOLEER by James
Carlos Blake, about "the racist,anti-Reconstruction Texas killer(s)
 John Wesley Hardin". It's approximately his birthday and when we
used to celebrate his nativity back in Texas, we'd always say:

"We wasn't really bad, just a victim of the times".

He also earned his law degree while serving time in Huntsville and
took up the practice of law in El Paso, where he was shot by John
Selman, a constable on the take. Sam Peckinpaugh's grandfather,
a newspaperman, was on his way to do a story on JWH, when John Wesley
was plugged.
