When Siegel and others aren't busy ranting at each other, an interesting
point emerges from time to time:
" He used to do an imitation of Bobby Kennedy singing
"Wild Thing" that had Chrissie and I literally rolling on the floor
screaming with laughter. Then there were his different ethnic accents.
Chrissie is right. Tom could have been an actor. Too bad he was so
terrified to appear in public."
Hmm. We old-timers might recall the odd hit of someone imitating Senator
Everett McKinley Dirksen doing a version of "Wild Thing" (which was sort
of inspired by the odd hit record the *real* senator had in "Gallent Men").
Well, the B side of the same record featuring "Wild Thing" by "Senator
Everett McKinley" was the same song done by "Senator Bobby" imitating
Guess Who?
So--was TRP imitating the B side of the record?
Was the record imitating TRP?
D-did TRP record it *himself*?
I've forgotten the name of the original "artist" but I'll bet Dr. Demento
fans will know. Any takers?
