When someone speaks/writes something and in no way suggests "quotes,"
then we can only assume that the voice is theirs. If that voice
doesn't suggest more than a bookish familiarity with
T.C. MITS (The Celebrated Man (uh-oh) In The Street), then yes,
that Person, not some movement that someone else may decide that that
person represents, is out of touch.
Of Course there are acamdemics, that are in touch and have
comparatively normal acquantiances. The general should
Never be applied to the individual instance without
evidence that the individual does, if fact, conform to the general.
