A Dingo Ate My Baby

I'm sorry to take up the bandwith, but-
	I'm in the middle of applying to M.A./Ph.D programs in the states right
now, and considering that so many of you are M.A./Ph.D/Profs, I was 
wondering if any of youse might help me out... Particularly on my "personal
statement"- any recommendations on how to write it?  I'm trying to 
avoid over-use of jargon, and I'm attempting to discuss my interests and
how they relate to each respective department I'm applying to, but are 
there any hints anyone can give me?   Also, are there if anyone could 
give me info about their department/program, that would be greatly 
appreciated, too- if anyone
out there can help, please respond to me personally-
