When? Back in the '70s, when I was more involved in "environmental" thought
'n theory, I read a series of articles that mentioned this change in
influence. By 1820 (or so) the corporate beast had emerged for better and/or
worse. Individuals could now incorporate, creating a "corporate fictional
person"... before this time, one was responsible for debts incurred. These
corporate entities became the vehicle for overcoming this serious form of
liability.
Not that there was any sort of "golden age" before this...
