Thanks for the reminder about our capitalist roots!  I still cannot help
but feel tho' as I read Anne Bradstreet, Edward Taylor and even old
Ben Franklin, that our concept of self and moral purpose has radically
changed. For 19 and 20 century-types, Morality=success, yes?  I keep
hearing William C. has gotten himself re-elected in spite of moral
turpitude because the economy has been "good" under his administration.
Good economy=good president. There's no other scale.
BTW to the person who said vulnerability is not a strength in his neck of
the woods?  Try admitting you're wrong, or hurting, or need help.  Now
THAT takes balls.  Any ofay can be John Wayne--just pretend you're
invulnerable. But to have the courage to kneel?  Ojala!  Ms. Moon Glampers
