Hmmm...I never really looked at this scene as the drawing actually
becoming animated and speaking to Prentice.  I always saw it more as a
transition to the internal masturbatory fantasizing of Prentice.

Though I would suppose that if one were to put this scene in a movie, you
probably would animate the drawing.

Does Pynch love those aporias, or what?

Reminds me of Jessica's picture peeking in on Roger and Pointsman..

But substituting eroticism for second sight (among other things).
