Well, I liked the unwelcome excursion just a bit, sort of like that
crazy college roommate who shows up 10 yrs later at midnight unannounced
and takes you on a Pig Bodine trip. But, I do understand the fear of
flame wars, the Signal to Noise ratios to be considered etc.
I'm curious, are folks really afraid of a newsgroup? Do you have a
sense of missing something if you didn't read it? Or is it a fear that
it would attract "undesirables" to this list? Or draw all traffic away?
Or is it something else?
I admit I don't understand the opposition, and I'm really interested in
this from a technology point of view (may finish that thesis yet!).
Send e-mail offline so we don't bother the folks here if you have any
thoughts on newsgroups.
Thanks,
Brett
