the perfect visual complement to Michale Herr's words, is it?

Could that guy still be alive after all the woundings, etc., he absorbed
in Nam and elsewhere?

By the way, and apropos of nothing in particular, Sean Flynn, another
of the young photographers along with Herr in _Dispatches_, is son of famous movie star Errol Flynn whom Slothrop seems to meet briefly at Raoul's party.

Something about saving a dame from an octopus.
