On the hidden arch--
Andrew and others have commented on Michael A.'s observation about the
opening tones of CHEROKEE being kind of arch-shaped. I really appreciate this
observation because I have been looking for an appropriate moment to point out
another hidden arch, a real significant one also, but since I missed the opening of
the GRGR I haven't had a chance, If you look at the opening paragraph of the
novel-- that interesting seven-sentence paragraph w/ that immortal opening
line--well, if you make a graph that charts words-per-sentence against the ordinals
you'll see another of those stunning *A* shaped parabolas! It's crazy! Like Paul is
dead clues, only real! Can we find other hidden arches?
BTW, I passed this observation along to John Krafft awhile back (trying to get a note
in PN) and he was moderately, but only moderately impressed. The question
was--did I see a real structure, was there a meaning here, or was it, you know, just
another kute korrespondence. Finding--two--such structures really strengthens
the idea that there may be more, no? Damme, I bet they're all over the place.
Where should we seek them?
