But isn't this exactly the kind of repressed/repressive personality he's
describing and using in the form of Brock Vond in VINELAND?  Mayhap he
needed twenty years or so to grow into his new vision (like many of us from
the sixties);  or maybe we're reading his take on homosexuals in GR a bit
too severely.
